• If a SPOT INSTANCE is terminated by Amazon, you will not be charge for the partial hour of usage, but if you terminate the instance then full hour has to be paid.
• Termination protection is turned off by default.
• Root volumes of DEFAULT AMIs can not be encrypted. You can do this by using third party tools or by creating and encrypted AMI and using that to launch the instance again.
• Additional volumes can be encrypted.
